Aikido Martial Art Basics Week

Free Week of Aikido - Kids and Adult Classes

September 26 - October 1, 2011

Naka Ima is holding an Aikido Basics week from Monday, September 26 to Saturday, October 1, 2011. During this week, each class will focus on an aspect of Aikido, such as basic Aikido terminology and history, basic techniques, basic self-defense & awareness, and basic rolling and falling. The goal is to give participants a taste of the many facets of the Aikido martial arts practice.

Basics of Aikido Martial Arts for Kids

The Aikido kids classes are for boys and girls between 5 and 12 years old.
Monday, September 26 at 6:00 - 6:50 pm: Aikido footwork
Thursday, September 29 at 6:00 - 6:50 pm: Aikido rolling and falling
Saturday, October 1 at 10 - 10:50am: Aikido self-defense

During this week, children should wear a t-shirt and loose fitting pants that cover their knees. Email us at to reserve a spot for your child today. Your child can come for one class or for all three classes.

Basics of Aikido for Teens and Adults

The Aikido adult classes are open to both men and women. No martial arts experience is necessary, and uniforms are not required during this week.

Monday, September 26 at 7:00 - 8:00 pm: Aikido history and terminology
Wednesday, September 28 at 7:00 - 8:00 pm: Basic Aikido techniques
Thursday, September 29 at 7:00 - 8:00 pm: Aikido self-defense
Saturday, October 1 at 11 - 12 noon: Aikido basic weapons
Saturday, October 1 at 12 noon - 1:00 pm: Basic Aikido rolling and falling
